Mark N at January 24, 2013:
Congress writes the legislation, not the president. That's not a "lefty spew", that's the law. It's in the constitution and everything. And I'm not "blaming" anyone here, investing in a company that someone in the white house owns stock in is neither criminal nor improper. It would only be improper if the person who has the stock crafted the policy which, again, is not the case here. Attacking me and accusing me of being liberal is not a valid response to a non-partisan, fact-based argument. I'm not saying "I love president obama", I'm saying "I don't like lies." Dishonest partisan drivel is bad no matter what side of the aisle it comes from.
Joe Messina at January 24, 2013:
Again LEFTY spews. The President DID have much to do with the stimulus. Do you really not understand how this works. The President piushed for these loan and other moneys to be given. He cant keep taking credit for all the good things happening and blaming the "Other Side" for all the wrong stuff. Good Luck with that.
Mark N at January 24, 2013:
Lying to anger conservatives is a HUGE industry. The first item is bull because the president didn't write the stimulus, congress did. Someone in the white house benefiting from something other people did is not a conflict of interest. This is just the same line of attack, misrepresenting the actual scope of the executive branch to pretend it is all-powerful and therefore all-responsible. Obama didn't write the budget or "obamacare" or raise the debt ceiling, congress controls all of those things. As for the second item on the list I googled it and it is also misleading - the company had been expanding into asian markets since 2005 when it bought a company in hong kong. The factory they opened was their "first" factory *in china*, not their first factory, as the wording of the article makes it sound like. This is written to make it sound like they are "shipping jobs overseas", which is a lie. After the stimulus they hired the first 200 of 575 new employees in their US company while expanding into asia. I'm sure if I took the time to google the rest of the items on the list I'd find there's a lot more misleading information there too. As I said, lying to get conservatives angry is big business. Skepticism is called for.
